“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.” This is the CrossFit nutrition prescription. sounds pretty simple huh? But why does it become so hard?

Everyday there is a new ‘quick fix diet’ that we are told will solve everything. We try it. We fail. We keep thinking the problem is with us. Yet, that’s not the truth.

Nutrition is the base of the fitness pyramid (pictured below) and lays the molecular foundation for fitness and health. Even if you are not focussing on fitness goals, nutrition is the core of what our body needs to survive. And like any other thing that needs fuel, we need to make sure that we have the right fuel for what we want to do.
